SF Chronicle's Two Cents

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

The San Francisco Chronicle's "Two Cents" column asks area residents why they continue to work after age 65. Answers include:
  • "The mind doesn't stop calculating." - an engineer

  • Compensation, including perks

  • Retirement, what's that?

  • "I love everything I do." - an actor

  • "The alternatives to working appear to me to be boring, immoral or stupid." - a music teacher

  • "I volunteer... I just can't stand doing nothing, and feel that underemployment, of any sort, is bad for one."
