Boomers Remain in Workplace: How will companies need to adapt?
Thursday, August 02, 2007According to MSNBC, 69% of boomers anticipate working past the normal retirement age. If so, companies will need to adapt in order to keep aging boomers in the workplace. What might your workplace look like in ten years?
On the downside:
- More generational issues
- Increase in health issues while on the job.
On the rosier side:
- More flexible work schedules for all including flexible hours, job sharing, telecommuting, and more vacation
- New technology like large screen monitors, lifting devices, and video conferencing
What does MSNBC fail to mention? the potential of keeping experience in the workplace.
